The Union

A Selection from the Erol Tabanca Collection

“Eskişehir embraces its museum, the collector realizes his dream, and the works of art meet the visitors”

“The Union,” as its name implies, is the story of a happy convergence. This selection from the Erol Tabanca Collection, which Tabanca started in early 2000s comprises of works created after 1950s by artists from Turkey and from several corners of the world.

The exhibition brings together the works by epoch-making artists in Turkish art history with those of young contemporary artists, thus in a sense uniting several creative generations.

The curator of the exhibition, Haldun Dostoğlu, describes the Erol Tabanca Collection as, “Like many collections in different countries, a varied, pluralist and multicolored collection that has expanded over multiple narratives, rather than around a single backbone.”

“The Union,” with works selected by Haldun Dostoğlu, presents us filigrees through which hopes, dreams, power, this enchanting land, in short, “we” traverse.
